Should I do an Ice bath Before or After a Workout?

Ice baths are best done after a workout, especially if your goal is recovery. Post-training cold exposure helps reduce muscle soreness, inflammation, and speeds up the healing process — making it ideal for athletes and active individuals.
Doing an ice bath before training, however, may dull your muscle activation and decrease performance because cold exposure restricts blood flow and numbs the nervous system.
Breathtribe Tips:
Wait 30–60 minutes post-exercise before taking an ice bath.
Limit to 10–12 minutes at 10–15°C (50–59°F) for safe and effective recovery.
Avoid it before strength or explosive workouts unless prescribed.
